Capital structure, financial performance and sustainability of Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in Ghana

The study examines the effect of capital structure on financial performance and sustainability Microfinance Institutions in Ghana. We investigate role debt-to-equity ratio, equity-to-asset deposit-to-loan ratio guaranteeing sustainability. implement multiple regression methods to relationship between observed indicators a set explanatory variables. empirical analysis involves 51 Ghanaian MFIs reporting MIX market. find strong support for notion that asset size is significantly positively related returns, self-sufficiency, Also, variables are strongly associated with profitability but exert insignificant impacts operational self-sufficiency instability MFIs. macroeconomic environment also matters profitability, ability improve security lessen risk critical ensuring profit efficiency self-sufficiency.
